 Do you love that fair Stromboli but don’t want to wait until then to have some?  Make your own from the comfort of your own kitchen!

For the dough
  1. 4 cups bread flour
  2. 1 Tablespoon yeast
  3. 2 tsp salt
  4. 1 tsp sugar
  5. 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  6. 1 1/2 cups warm water
For the filling
  1. pepperoni, as many as you desire
  2. 2 cups of mozzarella cheese
  3. 1-14oz jar pizza sauce
For the top
  1. 1 egg, beaten
  2. 4 Tablespoons butter, melted
  3. 2 Tablespoons Parmesan Cheese
  4. 2 tsp garlic powder
  5. Oregano, to taste
  6. Tools needed: brush for garlic butter
Instructions
  1. 1. Mix dry ingredients for dough. Add the water and olive oil. Mix with a fork until combined. Spray hands with olive oil spray or cooking spray. Kneed the dough until all of the flour is incorporated and dough is soft and elastic. Place in warm place to rise for 45 minutes.
  2. 2. Meanwhile, when dough is almost done rising, prepare the mixture for the top of your Stromboli. Melt butter on stove. Pour into bowl. Add the parmesan cheese, egg, and garlic powder and whisk together. Set aside
  3. 3. Prepare your ingredients for the inside of the Stromboli: pizza sauce, cheese, pepperoni.
  4. 4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  5. 5. When dough has finished rising, lightly flour the counter top and divide the dough. (This will be enough to make two Stromboli). Also lightly flour the rolling pin and spray hands with olive oil spray or cooking spray. Roll out the dough until it is about a 10 x 14 in. rectangle. Add 1/2 of the sauce and spread to within 2 inches of edge. Add the pepperoni and cheese. Fold over sides and press together. Seal the ends by pulling dough towards the folded sides and press together making a seal. Place seam side down on a large baking sheet.
  6. 6. Brush butter mixture on top of Stromboli. Sprinkle oregano over top.
  7. 7. Bake in 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. 8. Let the Stromboli rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing to allow the cheese to firm a little on the inside.
